Brent found out that Zombieland was premiering at the Paramount during Fantastic Fest here in Austin. We were pretty bummed that we couldn't get tickets to the festival this year. I was super stoked that we were able to get into this showing, as some of the film tickets go up for sale to non badge holders. As soon as he told me this was premiering here in Austin, with the cast and a Q&A after, I was in. I love zombie movies. Funny ones, scary ones, I dig em all! I appreciated that the tickets were assigned seating so I didn't have to worry about scrambling for seats and we had really good ones on the upper balcony dead center. I like the upper balcony at Paramount because the seating is angled and I can always see over the person's head in front of me, even if they are tall. Anyways....
Before the movie they had the whole red carpet deal and they were also painting people up to look like zombies. It was fun and a little scary at times. I mean, look at that scary bride and groom!
I really enjoyed this movie and laughed a lot! Brent doesn't get into comedies too much and I finally had to confess to him that I am a closet, What About Bob and Kingpin movie lover. We've been together for over 3 years and I was surprised at what a difficult confession this was for me. He's such a movie geek and I was ashamed. Ashamed no more, I am proud to admit I like some dumb comedies. So, if you liked Kingpin, I think you'll really like this flick. I most definitely want to see it again.
I'm afraid to say much more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone who hasn't seen Zombieland and who doesn't want to know anything. If you want to read more and see more pics click here.... Warning if you plan to see the movie I've got a few spoilers at the very bottom of that page under all the pictures. They aren't huge spoilers really but some people don't want to know anything before they see a movie and I totally respect that. They are easy to ignore if you don't want to see them so don't be afraid to look at the pics if that's all you want!
After the movie we were starving! We walked over to the Onion. Shockingly, Brent had never been there before. We'll definitely be back! Pizza was yummy and it's nice just to have a slice instead of gorging on an entire pie.
