My wonderful friend Nicole had a few ladies over for some pumpkin carving and dinner. I love Halloween! I haven't carved a pumpkin since college and I have to say I was pretty excited. Thankfully V had the foresight to think about a Pumpkin Ale and with the beautiful orange caps I could hardly wait to pop one open and get my pumpkin carving skills on! Nicole made a fabulous dinner, which I don't mean to offend by putting at the bottom of the blog, but I thought it would be more dramatic to start with 3 chics, 3 knives, and some serious pumpkin gouging.
As our pumpkins opened up, I loved the smell of pumpkin that emitted. I didn't remember such a pleasant smell when I had done this so long ago. The slimy pumpkin seeds felt so cool as I ripped them out of the large hollow and I have to say there was something quite therapeutic about the whole experience. Not that I want to stab anyone or anything but there is some definite aggression releasing through the whole process. As a normally peaceful this was the closest I knew I would ever get to one of my favorite television characters, the serial killer everyone loves, Dexter.
I'm not a big Martha Stewart fan but she has some cool Halloween ideas. I got my idea from her website.
All the girls did a great job and it was lots of fun!

Nicole made a fabulous dinner.... I need to find out what it was though. Unfortunately, I forgot my leftovers.
