Brent and I ate at La Traviata a while back and I've been meaning to blog about it. La Traviata is this great little place on Congress in the heart of downtown. I love the atmosphere there as it only has a few tables, it never seems to be too noisy, and the service is delightful. It's a little pricey, so don't go expecting a bargain but I have never been disappointed with the food and there is always enough for leftovers!
I loved my Mista Salad with local baby greens and hazelnuts. The shaved pecorino cheese was perfect with the vinaigrette and everything tasted so fresh and clean. I could have had just that for dinner but alas my entree had already been ordered and fired up in the kitchen, that's my excuse anyway. Brent says this is one of the best Caesar Salad's in Austin.
My theory is that if a restaurant can pull of a truly delicious salad that their food will be just as flavorful. My pasta was hev, heaven, heavenly. The arugula, the garlic, and the olive oil melded in my mouth like a well orchestrated symphony. This was weeks ago people, clearly this meal left an impression! Needless to say I highly recommend it. I'm not sure if they take reservations or not but if they do, try to get that cute little table up front in the window... that's my favorite seat.
