First of all, Dallas was fun, but it's good to be back in Austin! I always forget how under made-up I always feel particularly when out to breakfast and a 4-year-old girl walks by wearing much more fashionable clothes than I own... but she was super cute and had some really cool leggings that I now want. Its' also nice to be back home in my comfort zone of food, knowing I can find nice veggie options for my meals or a nice local hunk-o-meat.
Tonight we happened to be in the Hyde Park area. I really dig that part of town with the eclectic houses and interesting neighborhoods. Since we were there we decided to eat at Hyde Park Bar and Grill, which is an icon in Austin.

I always want to love this place because it's local and everyone else seems to, but I have yet to fall in love. I mean, it's good, don't get me wrong but I don't crave and rave over the fries like so many Austinites. The salad was tasty and I know it's just a salad but there are places who's salads I really fancy.. like the Fiesta Salad at Vivo and oddly enough Lambert's Bluebonnet Farms salad.
So, it was a nice dinner and I felt healthy even after eating a few of Brent's fries. I didn't have to do any dishes, the food was decent, and overall I can't really complain it just didn't leave me with a desire to rush back.
