Today was the last home game for the UT football season. Brent and I hadn't had a chance to go tailgating all year and so I really wanted to make sure to head down there this weekend. I'm still not 100% well, so we mostly visited with a few friends and walked around and took pictures. Next year I'll have to remember it's much more fun when you can have a few beers, minus using the port-o-potties of course. It was also senior day so we attempted to watch the seniors depart their bus and enter the stadium for the last time. You can clearly see how well that worked out for me; if only I was about 3 feet taller! In case you've been thinking about rushing down to the DMV to get a customized license plate, I thought I would let you know about a couple of plates that are already taken. I only wish I had been paying more attention earlier in our trek. You can view more pictures from the tailgate here. I'm afraid I couldn't quite capture the enormity and true spirit of the tailgaters. I'm always impressed with their dedication at arriving to their spots so early, camping out, and the amount of meat smells that permeate the air. Unfortunately, I didn't see any really good shoes, though I was looking really hard. I was a bit disappointed. However there was a menagerie of bling, purses, jackets etc that were all UT flare that made up for it but I didn't get shots of any of that. I guess I could take pics of my own UT garb but it just isn't the same. Before the tailgate we went to Katz's for a late breakfast. This time Brent and I got smart and split the omelet meal that comes with a 3 egg omelet, a baked good, and a potato pancake; it is an enormous amount of food. They were nice enough to put pastrami only in his half, so he got his meat and was happy.... for today. I made an addition of a little pancake and it was the perfect sized meal. Add a cup of coffee and I was good for most of the day!
