Halloween shopping and dinner...

First of all I want to say how truly sad I am that I missed my very good friend's baby shower today. My heart longed to be there but due to our bout with flu I didn't want to risk infecting a pregnant woman since they are in the "high risk" category. For up to date information on the flu go to: TexasFlu.org.

Buffalo Exchange

So, after a restful day on the couch Brent and I decided to venture to Buffalo Exchange for some quick costume shopping. We knew exactly what we were looking for and thankfully we found it! I highly recommend this great store as they have lots of options for Halloween costumes, particularly since they have expanded the store. Also, it's oh-so-green to buy a used costume or used clothes so it pads your pocket book and either intentionally or unintentionally helps your green cause.

They couldn't let me take pictures inside so I just took a few shots from outside so you could get a general idea.

Terra Burger

The short trip to Buffalo kind of wore us down so we thought we'd grab something to eat before we headed home to watch the UT vs Colorado game.  So we stopped at Terra Burger. I was going to eat a burger but thankfully I asked about their meat.  For some reason, I was under the impression that they got their meat locally. So for those of you who I have touted that Terra Burger uses a local vendor for meat, they do not. They do have many local items like the tea, buns, as well as a few other things. They do use all natural, sustainable, and core organic ingredients as well as offering gluten free options.
I had the veggie burger which is an Amy's brand patty.  It's good.  Their order of fries are huge and Brent and I will probably split a half order next time instead of a full order.  Personally, I don't recommend the sweet potato fries. We didn't have them this time but last time we went they were un-good enough for us both to agree not to get them again and I usually prefer sweet potato fries when they are an option. Their regular fries are pretty tasty though.
I know that eating organic is more expensive but I was a little sticker shocked that our meal came to almost $18 for an order of mini-burgers, a veggie burger, 1 order of fries, and 2 drinks. Overall, if your focus is organic eat at Terra Burger. In mine and Brent's opinion another way to support local is Phil's Ice House. They have better sweet potato fries and veggie burgers, buns, and burgers.  The 78704 is the best veggie/regular burger in town.
