Last week I had the opportunity to go to a conference in San Antonio and had the delight to visit Green Vegetarian Restaurant. This blog is going to be short as I'm going to let the pictures of the food speak for itself and well, I'm not feeling that great today so don't feel my descriptive verbiage flowing.
The food was fresh, healthy, and reasonably priced and I was so glad for the recommendation from my new friend, Ahsan. Green isn't far from the Riverwalk, where I was staying, and it was a nice change of pace from the myriad of unhealthy and expensive choices on the touristy Riverwalk.

I ate here on two separate occasions during the week and the kale salad as my favorite and I ordered it twice. I think they just blanched the kale so it was still slightly crisp and I believe was bathed in a soy sauce type dressing. Scrumptious.
I'm inspired to make this tasty and healthful wrap sometime at home but need to find a recipe for pecan hummus. The pecans brought a sweet light flavor in contrast to the tart collard greens, sprouts, and raw broccoli. It was quite good.
I was told this was a popular dish on the menu. It wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped it would be but it was good. Next time I think I'll stick with anything and everything fresh and green on the menu as I think that's the way to go!
