Gerber Daisies for Baby G's shower! (I bought them but the G correlation was unintentional. Does this mean I subconsciously smart? Hmm, maybe.)
My day started late, and once it started it didn't stop!  Family "G" is having a baby and a delightful baby shower was held at Blue Dahlia. (I've talked about Blue Dahlia before here and here.)  This was a perfect setting for a small gathering and we sat in the back courtyard. I enjoyed that the shower was intimate enough that it gave me a chance to meet new people and catch up with friends I hadn't seen in a while. There was only one activity and it was really cute. We all painted on onesies for the baby and it was a great way for some to let out there creative juices. My onesie resulted in nothing but a big, green, G. Perfect for my caliber of painting talent (another unintentional G correlation on my part G for green, I'm a subconscious g-g-genius I tell you!)

Cheese plate from Blue Dahlia. A variety of cheeses served with kalamata olives, apricot jam, and an assortment of fresh baked breads. Mmm.

Everyone enjoyed a beautiful fruit tart from Sweetish Hill Bakery. It was simply divine with the fresh strawberry and kiwis, a creamy mango filling, and a scrumptiously baked crust.

Dinner

Chipotle mushroom vegan tamales from Mambo Berry
Brent and I had a little bit of time for dinner so we jumped on our bikes and headed to the trailer eateries on Congress. I grabbed food from Mambo Berry.  My chipotle mushroom tamales were awesome, a little spicy and a lot tasty. I'll definitely eat those again, though next time I will just order two instead of three... two would have been plenty and I ended up reheating the other for my second dinner later that night.
Brent got his dinner from some bar-b-que joint next to Mambo Berry. I never saw a name for the place but they had 2-for-1 brisket sandwiches for $5! Brent said it was pretty good.

Gotta grab a pic when I can, even if it is half eaten!

Birthday Party at District 301

Picture
As you can see, I'm clearly the Wicked Witch of the West
The party was themed "Hero's and Villain's" and I was quite impressed with how many people dressed up in March! My Wicked Witch of the West costume didn't come together as much as I had hoped but I had a "W3" painted on my neck, so it should have been clear to everyone, I mean come on. Anyways, I hadn't been to District 301 before and it was a pretty cool set up.  They had a great DJ and some nice booths to hang out in.

The birthday girls Wonder Woman Boots. Nice.

The most witchy part of my outfit: spiderweb laiden glittered shoes which
The party seemed to be a success and I hope that Kim, the birthday girl, had a great time!

All in all a great day!

You forgot to mention my bike face plant into S. Congress. Ouch. But the giant cleavage that served my BBQ made up for it, or maybe I had a concussion and dreamed that??
