Hair is fun and it is also something I take very seriously. This picture does NOT do justice to the work that Heather Davis from Salon Sovay has done on my hair. I recently found myself on the market for a new hairstylist a performed some massive searches on the internet to find a place. Somehow I stumbled upon Salon Sovay, read Heather’s bio and wanted to give it a shot. So, I went in Saturday, a week ago, to get my first haircut from her. Salon Sovay is located in this cute little house just south of Oltorf on 1st Street. Honestly, it’s a little farther than I would normally drive from downtown but I really liked it when I saw the place and stepped inside. Now, I get to meet Heather; first impression, she was cute and definitely embodies the Austin funky style. Ok, that’s all good and well, but can she cut hair? My answer is a resounding yes. This is one of the best haircuts I have gotten in quite some time, and at a more than reasonable price I might add. As a new customer, I appreciated that she made it a point to let me know that it’s more than ok for me to play with my hair for a week and come back if I don’t like it. I mean, I know most hair peeps give some sort of guarantee, but I need permission to know it’s ok for me to come back if I don’t like it.
I have a feeling that this won’t be an issue, however, because after my first cut and color we added a few days later, I see that Heather is a perfectionist. As a person who takes my hair very seriously, I appreciate that greatly! It has only been a week and I have already had several people stop me and ask where I get my hair done. We finished up the color today and it’s just awesome! I’ll have to post some more pictures soon to show off the color she has done. I’m most impressed with the passion and creativity she has brought to the table and hope I haven’t hyped her up so much that I lose my seat to all her new customers!

I found myself in need of a new stylist and decided to try out Heather since Laura had raved about her. And rightly so. Heather is great! I decided since I will be short on time and money, with a baby quickly on his way, it was time to go brunette. That way I could go at least 4 months without worry of roots. She was very thorough, being sure to understand exactly what color I was going for and how we might accomplish that shade. I was even presented with a couple options. I felt educated about how the process can and should work, something I've never received from a stylist before. Ultimately the color turned out fabulous, a dark shade of auburn. And as much as my mother hates red or reddish hair she said this color actually looks natural on me:) So thank you Heather and thank you Laura for the awesome recommendation.

Heather is one of a kind! I recently had Heather work her magic on my hair. I have never colored my entire hair, so as you can imagine I was a tad apprehensive about the bold move. Needless to say, Heather did a wonderful job with my haircut and color. Heather took her time assessing my hair type and what suited me best. We played with different hair color swatches until we finally narrowed it down to a rich brown/deep auburn color. I am pleased with the end results and everyone at work loves my new look. I am enjoying my bouncy locks!
