I continue to fall in love with Heather at Salon Sovay. I blogged about her here and here. I don't even think I've been going to her for a year yet and I love that she helps me put a twist on my look almost every time I come in to see her. She's so great at what she does; Heather is a perfectionist and always wants us both to be happy when I walk out the door. I was almost embarrassed to come get my most recent "do" re-done simply because it had been way to too long since I saw her last. I couldn't believe I was STILL getting compliments on my locks up to the very day I walked in the front door.

So this was a big day for me (sigh), I got my first injections of Botox from eOs Dermatology and Med Spa today. I wasn't quite sure how to feel about doing this except for feeling very, very nervous. Did I say very? I felt myself turn green as I sat in the chair, seriously, but Dr. Rasmussen put me right at ease. I guess this act means my vanity is taking hold and I'm moderately okay with that. I mean, people do all kinds of things to make themselves feel better like diets, buy clothes or shoes, spend money, eat a comforting meal... so what's so bad about injecting botulinum toxin in your face?
So a few people have really wanted to see the new addition to our family. A wardrobe. A fabulous, huge, makes-me-feel-like-a princess closet expansion! I had never been to IKEA before and needless to say, before this project was over we had gone three times and spent approximately 8 hours in this place. If you ever need to go to the store in Austin, I can talk you through all the short cuts to get through departments, seriously.
We went on a Saturday morning at 10am. Purchased the behemoth and got it set for the delivery truck for the evening of the same day. Then, of course, we had to dive back in to the store to get all the little extras like lighting and scarf holders and containers for organizing. It was like Disney Land! We frantically rushed home, leaving the store at 4:30pm to try to race the delivery truck back and hopefully beat it. It was a busy night and my only wish is that there were more hours in this day. After I got home from work, I enjoyed a nice run with cool weather. What a great change, I'm really enjoying this time of year! Then Brent and I hurried to get ready for a quick Happy Hour at Imperia to visit with our friend on leave from Iraq. We then hurried off to the Tribeza fashion show.
It was great to see our friend Josh, he looks great and we can hardly wait for him to come home in December. We hadn't know him for long before he left and he made quite and impression on us with his kind heart and constant smile. I look forward to getting to know him better upon his return. Him and his gal, Jessica, just bought a house! I'm really excited for the both of them and all the good that I am sure is to come their way. Hair is fun and it is also something I take very seriously. This picture does NOT do justice to the work that Heather Davis from Salon Sovay has done on my hair.
I recently found myself on the market for a new hairstylist a performed some massive searches on the internet to find a place. Somehow I stumbled upon Salon Sovay, read Heather’s bio and wanted to give it a shot. Tonight we went to a poolside fashion show sponsored by the Art Alliance Austin at the AMLI downtown. It’s slowly becoming cooler in Austin and this was a great night for such an affair! I love that we can go to these events and you see people dressed up the the nines to your general Austin casual cool.
