Mexican martini at Trudy's.
It's been quite some time since I've been to a Friday happy hour and Saturday morning as I clawed my way out of bed, I remembered why. It was a great night though and started at the Trudy's near campus with a fun gathering with some people from work. Trudy's is famous for their two drink limit on Mexican Martinis. Needless to say, I met the limit and by 5:30 I was ready to hit the town.

Thankfully, I rode with my friend V. We stopped by my house, picked up my change of clothes and headed out the door. I think Brent was more than happy to hand me over to someone else since it was so early and I was so, um, tipsy. (Yeah, tipsy sounds so lady like, right?) We got to her house and she heated up some delicious tomato based pesto that she had cooked up the night before. It was delish and I was quite thankful for some good food in my belly.

Grr, I'm so frustrated with my computer.. I can't get this pic turned around. Anyways, these are the awesome boots V snagged at Strut and got an amazing deal! Good job, V.

Lupe wore these fabulous shoes. I love loved they way these girls rocked the shoes with tights.. it was freaking cold out!
After everyone showered and got all dolled up we headed downtown. I must say, I had a great time playing with V's massive eye shadow pallet.. I should have gotten a picture of it. It's so much fun getting ready with the girls and I would say it's one of the few things I miss about being single but I wouldn't trade Brent in for the world. (Upon receiving permission I'll post a picture of V's make-up, she looked h-o-t, hot!) I also need to get a pic posted of Lupe's hair. She went to see Heather again, who I posted about here, and her hair looked fabulous.
The first place we all headed downtown was Peche. Peche is one of my favorite bars in Austin and I'll actually be headed back on Tuesday to get the scoop from Russell the main bartender.  Apparently he won 4th place in the country for best bartender and will be headed to Vegas soon to receive some recognition. He is great, I must say... more on him to come soon.

Old cuban: Rum, lime, mint, simply syrup, champagne, bitters. There might have been more but I missed it. It was tasty with a nice crisp taste.

Haiti's embrace. I call it: spicy, citrus love.

Unknown but beautiful.
After Peche we walked to a couple of other bars but it was super cold out and nobody was really out. I headed home and let the single girls take over the town. Brent was surprised to see me in two hours before the bars closed but I just couldn't hang. I'm not sure if it is marriage that has decreased my tolerance for alcohol or simply my desire to be out on such a cold night. The single girls rocked it though and I was impressed but also very cozy as I curled up in my sheets.
